Owning a home is wonderful. You can paint walls any color you want and buy any style of furniture you like. The possibilities are endless when it’s yours, but there’s one thing that isn’t always easy to keep up with—and that’s the clutter. I’ve found that my go-to place to stick my storage is the garage. My two-car garage has become a one-car garage, and the extra space has been filled with a Christmas Tree, snowboards, bins of old clothes, and garden tools: all of which have been toppled over and spilled across the floor.
I’ve found that taking the time to tackle that garage is not only empowering, but relieving as well (when it’s all finished). I’ve come up with a few tips for organizing that garage.
⦁ Find shelving, cabinets, or hooks to get everything off the ground.
⦁ Keep your long-term storage high and your frequently used storage at eye level.
⦁ Have a specific place for everything.
⦁ Snow gear goes here, camping gear goes there. Have your family plan and organize the space together. This will empower each member of the family.
⦁ Use a labeling system to keep organization a priority.
⦁ Be consistent.
⦁ It’ll only take a minute to put your things away, so put them in the right spot.
⦁ Set the example for the rest of your family as to not let clutter build up.
⦁ A new garage flooring will help make the space look brand new and clean
⦁ It also covers cracks and there are green, sustainable options.
I do hope these tips help and will keep our city looking good! We’ll have the best looking garages in the state! For more tips visit http://www.garagesolutionscolumbia.com/.
