It’s Friday and that means I will introduce you to another Great place to visit in South Carolina. The City Market is in the heart of the busiest tourist area of Historic Charleston it is in the center of Market Street. The market has just been refurbished and the inside stores are really beautiful and the outside stores are like a flea market of local vendors you walk past and view and purchase gifts and souvenirs from. Steeped in history and charm, the Charleston City Market is a popular destination for all who visit. Open 365 days per year, the Market is an exciting place for tourists and local Charleston residents alike.

Artisans, clothing, food, crafts and the quintessential sweetgrass baskets all available. Historic Charleston is represented and worth stopping by. The market is surrounded by interesting shops and restaurants. The Market has been a central part of life in Charleston for over 200 years. The Greek Revival-style Market Hall building facing Meeting Street was completed in 1841, and today houses the Daughters of the Confederacy Museum. Behind it, vendor’s sheds stretch all the way to East Bay Street and are populated by over 100 vendors. If you ever come to Charleston, SC  this is a must-see!
