French desserts are some of my favorite desserts. The french have such a way with food. It is so irresistibly sweet and oh so delectable. Well, I’m not going to be able to jet off to France any time soon. So, this cookbook helps me create my very own desserts. Hillary Davis helps us to celebrate her favorite homemade desserts. Along with regional specialties from Italy, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.
Included are some basic and simple recipes, that even I could make. They include some very delicious coffees and dessert liqueurs. Which is something very nice to share with your spouse after a long day at work. After a delicious dinner, a decadent dessert and then a nice tasty liqueur.
Also a chapter that offers you the basic foundations of pastry cream, chantilly, crepe batter, tart dough, almond paste, dessert sauces, french butter cream and so many others. Once you learn the basic recipes the rest is all up to you and your imagination.
French Desserts Recipes
Some of the most amazing recipes are included in this book. With very plain, simple and easy to follow instructions. With some beautiful photos to accompany. I have tried several and so far, mine don’t look as nice as the picture. But, I will continue to try. They taste delicious even if they don’t look this pretty. My family has not complained yet. Some recipes included are, Chambord-Glazed Dark Chocolate Tart, Lime Yogurt Loaf Cake with Sugared Lime Drizzle, and Roasted Pineapple with Thyme Honey Ice Cream. We have enjoyed so many recipes and still have more to try.
