Inspired by all the “Fitness Friday” hashtags, memes, and tweets dominating social media threads at the end of every week, this Friday I thought I’d share my personal experience using the MuTu System 12 Week Program. Mutu System is a fitness program specifically designed for women who want their bodies to look, feel and function better post-baby. Although it’s been a year since I gave birth to my daughter I still struggle with losing weight, especially in my abdominal area, and since this fitness program is exceptionally beneficial to mothers of babies as young as 6 weeks up and beyond. I was extremely excited to finally try a program that fit my current lifestyle and used by mothers just like myself!
For most of my life my relationship with fitness has been a rocky road filled with numerous ups and downs. As a child my weight was never an issue until I reached middle school and felt social pressure from peers to fit in. At that time I was completely average in size in reality, but my chest size was “generously” more developed than most girls in my class. That particular fact made me an instant target of daily taunts and ridicule and I became extremely depressed and ate as a way to comfort myself. The pounds packed on throughout the rest of my developing years my weight would yoyo back and forth. At my heaviest I was 236lbs in my early twenties which made me 75lbs over the recommended weight range between 127 and 159 pounds according to my height of 5′ 7″. Back to back pregnancies with my son and daughter increased my weight and although I’ve tried everything from Pilates, Insanity workouts, dancing, dieting, and numerous gym memberships my weight has pretty much been stagnate over the years.
I began the MuTu System 12 Week Program a little over a month ago and the programs focus on helping women build core and a pelvic floor strength, in addition to weight loss after childbirth, added to my excitement to try the system. This system also combats diastasis recti which is a common among pregnant women in which the belly sticks out because the space between your left and right belly muscles has widened. Over many years of hopping from one fitness regime to another I’ve grown accustomed to fitness packaging and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that MuTu System 12 Week Program was compactly packaged in a single case unlike the majority of exercise programs of twelve plus DVDs and take up a whole corner of a room. I found the workout system hard at first as I had just about as much core strength as a rotten apple, but over time I could seriously feel the difference the program had made in my stomach, making certain other exercises and daily life activities much easier. My usual back pains had lessened and my shirts “flowed” over my tummy area a lot better than before. After giving birth to two babies in two years I wasn’t brave enough to take (and publically release) Before & After photos of my own tummy but I know if I continue to use the MuTu System 12 Week Program I’ll eventually become selfie-happy with my tummy area in no time. Although I’m bashful, hundreds of other MuTu mommy users continue to share incredible before and after pictures of their physical results which can be seen on the company’s website.
A DVD sessions with Wendy Powell is similar to having your own personal trainer on your TV but if your like most moms and have a hectic schedule you can easily access the program via computer, tablet, and mobile device on-the-go. “MuTu Mamas”, an exclusive & interactive Facebook community encompassing tens of thousands of users, is a dedicated space where members can receive support and motivation from others. I did not find the group to be very welcoming based on a personal exchange within the group that felt unnecessarily hostile to me but I did recieve support from one nice member on the posed Mamas”, an exclusive & interactive Facebook community made up of tens of thousands of users, is a great place to receive support and motivation from others such as yourself. Although that one experience DOES NOT reflect the group as a whole, the lack of engagement from other subscribers coupled with the response from the FB group admin (Wendy Powell herself) regarding the ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. Being a HUGE proponent of “good first impressions” myself, I immediately decided to remove myself from the group afterwards. Outside of the Facebook group other personal user success stories, videos, photos, and comments can be accessed through MuTu System’s official website and one has the ability to stay connected through Twitter, and Google+.
This award winning and best-selling holistic fitness program has made a big difference in my life and I’m so thrilled to say I’ve recently lost 17lbs after committing to a healthier lifestyle of regular exercise, conscious eating, and support from the MuTu System 12 Week Program. I will continue to make it a regular part of my fitness regime and you should too, especially us moms out there that could always use an extra helping hand of meaningful support to live stronger, happier, and healthier lives for ourselves and families.
