Fall Home Decoration Ideas

With all of the heat waves that we experienced this past summer, I am quite eager for the cooler temperatures to make their way. As many of you may already know, autumn happens to be my favorite season of all time. I can’t wait to get into the autumn spirit with my clothing choices, baking, and of course, my home decorating.

It’s always fun to spruce up and elevate the décor in my house so that it truly reflects the current season. However, I always keep in mind budget and convenience. I like to go for decoration styles that won’t break the bank and could be used for following years.

Here are some of my tips and tricks:

Throw Pillows and Blankets

Autumn is all about change in color and I like to get in the mood with shades of red, orange and yellow. Just like the leaves turning into completely different hues, I like to do the same with my throw pillows and blankets. For a budget-friendly solution, I make my own cases and use them on my existing throw pillows: easy to change and convenient to use for following years.

Placemats and Fruit Bowls

For my dining room décor, I like to add placemats from the dollar store in the same tones as the above-mentioned pillows and blankets. For a table centerpiece, I take advantage of fruit bowls that I already own and fill it up with seasonal fruits and veggies. It’s a fantastic way to add subtle autumn touches without breaking the bank.

Mini Pumpkins

As soon as autumn rolls around, pumpkins are found all over the local markets near my home. Every year, I like to pick up about a dozen’s worth and use it for my decorating. I find that adding a few to mantles, floating shelves and side tables can keep your home within the seasonal theme without looking too gaudy. I also like to paint three or four of them to give them some color and pattern.

Faux Branches

I like to add faux branches to my vases during the fall season. It’s a great representation of autumn: this season is all about change and the leaves falling to the ground. I usually find them for very inexpensive at craft stores and because they’re faux, I can use them season after season.
