Liam recently got three books in the mail. One of them has yet to be released. Matter of fact, we got the actual proofs. Liam said, “Mama! I get to be the first kid to read this book! That is awesome!” Sure is kiddo!
He chose, “No Yeti Yet,” by Mary Ann Fraser. The first thing I noticed were the pictures. They were great. Very colorful. He asked me to read it because he doesn’t like to read, but be read to. This book was adorable! It’s about two brothers who go out to play in the snow, in search of a Yeti. The oldest is leading the search, and the youngest, well, he has a lot of questions. It reminded me of when Liam would bombard his “bubby” with a million questions. VERY cute book, and I will definitely be reading it to him again. He enjoyed it as well. Perfect “snow day” book!
The next book was my personal favorite. It’s called, “All the Lost Things,” by Kelly Canby. I liked how the text was all over the pages, in different sizes. It made reading the book more interesting. The story itself was adorable. A spunky little girl named Olive goes for a walk in the city, and finds all the lost things. A little old lady whom collects the lost things tells her she can take what she wants. What she chooses will surprise you, and warm your heart as well. Wonderful book to read again and again.
The third book was equally adorable. “Mina’s White Canvas,” by Hyeon-Ju Lee, is about a young artist named Mina. When she looks up at the dreary, winter sky, she decides to add to it with her crayon. When she does, something magical happens. With her crayon, she begins to help out woodland animals, and make friends as well. Another great story for a cold, winter day. Let’s face it, it will be here before we know it!
All three books were a great read, and the illustrations were sweet and inviting. So check them out, and enjoy them with your little ones. <3
