Explore Central Park

You must have heard of New York’s famous Central Park. Well, it’s a great place to begin your exploration of the city. Now, I will warn you; tourists are very common here. However, there are plenty of ways you can avoid the herds of people. Central Park is a whole 843 acres of gorgeous views, bright flowers, and a lot of history. I recommend seeing it by rented bicycle, if you like that kind of thing. Early morning rides, around 6 in the morning, are amazing. While you’re biking around, try to find the John Lennon ‘Imagine’ mosaic. This is a tribute to him found in the park’s Strawberry Fields. He was once a resident of New York for a little while!

The Empire State Building

A trip to New York isn’t complete without a trip to the Empire State building. It’s very touristy, but you can’t miss it. It’s New York’s tallest building, and the views you can enjoy here are truly breathtaking. I advise you head over early in the morning, or perhaps on your lunch hour to avoid the vast amount of people. Book your ticket online to get a better deal and avoid waiting in the queue.

The Nightlife

The nightlife in New York is hard to believe. There are such a diverse amount of places to go, that it can be difficult to decide where to head off too. Subject, on Suffolk Street, is a 50s style bar with a cool looking soda machine behind the bar. The cocktail menu is varied and exciting, but you can just enjoy a bourbon if you’d rather. For something like you’ve never done before, head over to The Skate Truck – it could be a really interesting date! This doesn’t involve drinking but you’ll be skating like a pro in no time!

If you really want to have a good time, you could always hop on a party bus. Try one found on a site like http://www.bergenlimo.com/New-Jersey-Party-Bus.html, for example. You’ll get to ride all around the city before being dropped off at some of the best bars.

Flea Markets

If you’re like me and you love a good bargain, you’ll love New York’s flea markets. While you could spend your hard earned cash on 5th Avenue like everybody else, you can also explore the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market. Over 100 vendors sell their wares here, and it could be anything from antique furniture to vintage jewellery. Browsing alone is exciting, but it’s spectacular when you come across something interesting.
