It’s Not Too Late To Enjoy the Warm Weather Safely

Just because this weekend is the unofficial end of summer, doesn’t mean we can’t get outside and enjoy the warm weather. While swimming may not be an option, there are still fun things we can do, and we need to make sure we’re safe from the sun and insects.

It’s Not Too Late to Enjoy the Warm Weather Safely

Our favorite warm weather activity is fishing. It’s best enjoyed on warm spring and fall days. Fishing is a great way to get out of the house, get some fresh air, and have fun family time. We like to make it a game. Usually, it’s kids versus parents. The team that catches the least has to do dinner dishes. It makes it a fun little competition, and anytime I can get out of doing dishes, I’m game!

We also love to have picnics. Typically we head to our favorite swimming hole. Though it’s not warm enough to swim, we can enjoy our lunch, fish, catch crawdads, and hunt for creek glass. (Northern Pennsylvania’s version of beach glass.) A day spent at the swimming hole is like a day at the beach, just northern style.

However, even though it’s not hot enough to swim, we still need protection for the sun and insects. We love our families, and we need to keep them safe.
