Ready to enjoy life and dive in and try a new wine? If so, then you need to check out Cannonball Wine. Just like a cannonball dive is fun and enjoyable, they believe that wine should be too! It should make a splash and make you happy! Cannonball is serious about their wine and feels that no matter if you’re paying fifteen dollars, or sixty dollars, you should love your wine just the same. Cannonball Wine is based out of California and offers five different wines, in six flavors. California Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County Merlot, Sonoma County Chardonnay, Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc, and Angels and Cowboys. Angels and Cowboys comes in Proprietary Red and Rose.
Cannonball Wine was kind enough to send my hubby and I a bottle of their 2014 Sonoma County Chardonnay. This Chardonnay boasts notes of orchard apple, lemon curd, wild honeysuckle, nectarine and even hints of almond. This wine also offers the best of both worlds with intriguing fruit, hints of oak, and pleasant creaminess. Taste wise, you may notice flavors of white peach, quince compote, and brioche. Layered with hints of saffron and vanilla. Now my husband and I are not what you’d call wine connoisseurs, but we both very much enjoy partaking in a glass on most nights, and enjoying wine with our families for holidays and special occasions. So while our palates may not be advanced enough to taste all the different flavors, we can still decipher from “good” or “bad” wine. Cannonball’s Chardonnay definitely falls into the good category, and even fits into the excellent one as well. We both enjoyed it equally and as I type this, I’m already looking forward to partaking in a glass of it, this evening.
The technical aspects of Cannonball Wine’s Chardonnay are 100% Chardonnay • AVA: Sonoma County (70% Russian River, 17% Alexander Valley, 13% Sonoma Coast) • Alc: 13.9% Suggested retail price for bottle of the wine will run you $14.99 and can be found at most Wine and Spirit Liquor Stores.
