For the past month, I’ve been missing my Peet’s Carmel Latte because I’m broke!  We are cutting back on extras at home to save some money for a family trip.  The one thing I’m giving up is my Weekly Peet’s Latte fix however I’m craving one so bad.  I decided to make my own.  Guess what.. I’m going to be able to save the money pretty quickly because I like my homemade latte!  I had everything in my fridge except the Carmel Syrup. That was simple enough to buy at the grocery store.  Now I can enjoy a latte whenever I want!

Caramel Vanilla Latte

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup of your favorite brewed Hot Coffee ( recommend a caramel or vanilla flavor )
  • Add 1 tablespoons of the Caramel Sauce
  • Add 1 tbsp Salted Caramel Syrup
  • 3 tablespoons of Coffee-Mate French Vanilla Liquid Coffee Creamer
  • 1 cup of Milk

Directions:

  • Brew the Coffee
  • In a big coffee cup add the Caramel Sauce
  • Add Salted Caramel Syrup
  • Stir until the caramel is dissolved
  • Add Coffee Creamer
  • In a small pan, heat milk over medium heat
  • Whisk constantly to create foam
  • Once the milk is hot, remove from heat and pour the milk slowly into your coffee cup
  • Use a large spoon to hold back the foam while you are pouring
  • Add the foam to the top
  • Drizzle Caramel sauce on top
Oh my this recipe is simple and I didn’t even mess it up- it actually taste pretty darn good.  I think it might even taste better than my Peet’s latte.  Don’t be mad Peet’s I will be back someday but for now I will be making my own latte.  I want to try White Chocolate Mocha next.  I’m saving $10 3x a week (when we go I get a latte, my daughter a frappuccino and a cookie) so that is $30 a week and $120 a month.  Oh wow, when I break it down like that I’m very happy my DIY Latte tastes good, makes me feel better.
