Decorating With Curtains In Each Room

We are moving soon and I’m excited to decorate my new house.  I don’t want our house to look like we just threw everything together.  My husband says our style right now is the “married with kids” look.  I want to upgrade on that look.  What ties the room together I feel is the curtains.  It’s not always about the style but the function of the curtains.  I plan to pick different curtains for each room that fits what I want to the mood to be!

In the living room I know Modern Curtains will give us the sophisticated grown up look that we want.  Modern curtains are very basic and clean plus some have the energy-saving function that would come in handy for the living room.  We spend a lot of time in the living room, reading or watching TV.  When we have guests over we are usually sitting around listening to music so we need that mature atmosphere.

I want Country Curtains in the kitchen because it makes me feel at home in the kitchen.  The kitchen is where we have the most fun- cooking, entertaining and family time while having our meals. My mom always had the country vibe going on in her kitchen and it just makes me feel good.  Bright flowery curtains are what I’m talking about, they just bring out the cheerfulness.

Lace Curtains are perfect for the bathroom because they bring in the light plus are so delicate.  I usually have green as a color in my bathroom because it makes it feel fresh.  I want guests and my family to feel like they are somewhere special when they use the restroom at my house.  Curtains are important in the bathroom, even if you have little or no windows.

Shabby Chic Curtains are what I want in my bedroom.  I can design my bedroom around the curtain because it is so bold and colorful. My husband says I can do anything in the room except he doesn’t want pink or purple.  If I go Shabby Chic in the bedroom I might be able to pull off having my favorite colors without making it too girly! With the colors from the curtain I will match the bedding and pillows.  Candles and pictures can also tie into the colors.  This room will be my retreat area so I want warm, cheerful colors that are relaxing.

Kids Curtains are going to be fun to pick out because both my kids have their own personalities and I want to decorate their rooms to fit them.  The curtains will need to be the blackout kind so when they take naps the light is not bothering them.
