How to Conquer Your Cat’s Anxiety

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Feliway for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m a huge fan of cats and we have them in our home. I guess you could call us cat people.  Recently, I noticed that our cat was getting anxious. She would just meow and not settle down and I didn’t really know what to do. Luckily, I found some relief for her and I’ll share what we did in a few minutes. For now, I wanted to share some reasons why your cat also may be dealing with anxiety because it took me a little bit to understand what was causing our cat’s anxiety.   Moving- If you have recently moved, your feline may be going through some anxiety. She doesn’t know where she is and she may be a bit confused. Or is your cat generally hiding away, being unreasonably aggressive, licking you too much or just meowing purposelessly? Sure, you look familiar to her, but it doesn’t mean everything else does. Car rides- Another thing that could be causing your kitty to have anxiety is riding in a car. Cats aren’t exactly “car people.” So this may be causing them some anxiety, especially if you have just moved or went on a long trip. Other guests- There have been a few new people at our house recently and this may have caused our cat some anxiety. Guests who are not normally around your home can easily cause anxiety in your cat. It’s not your guest’s fault, it’s just how some cats are wired. So what can you do about anxiety in your cat? Feliway® helps to make your cats happy again. You know when your cats rub on furniture? That’s a sign that they are happy and Feliway® can help replicate this feeling in your kitty. By mimicking this pheromone, Feliway® creates a state of familiarity and security, helping to comfort and reassure cats as they cope with a challenging situation. It comes in several forms for your convenience as well! Feliway really helps my Hannah and Lily. Hannah has had a lot of anxiety since we brought Lilly home. She has been extra sensitive and a little aggressive to Lily. We have tried everything we could think of, but nothing would calm her down. Since we have started using Feliway, we have noticed a change in her behavior. She is not so aggressive and seems to be getting used to having a sister.  Hannah was our only cat for over 4 years, so I know why she has the anxiety. And we want to make her feel extra secure and #FearFree. Feliway®:

  • Diffuser
  • Spray
  • Wipes
  • Diffuser with “Multicat” formula that helps reduce aggression in multi-cat households

There you have it! An awesome way to help your kitty get rid of anxiety. I hate when I have anxiety, so I dislike the idea of my kitties dealing with it. And I want them to live #FearFree.

Finally a product to help our cats! Thanks SO much for posting this, I only wish this product had come out sooner! It would have really helped my older beloved cat, who crossed the rainbow bridge last year, adjust to a poor little male stray we couldn't help but take in..:(
