Gosling’s Original ChopSaver Lip Care is an all-natural, herbal lip balm created by professional trumpet player, Dan Gosling. The product contains 10 certified organic ingredients, including Arnica Oil. Arnica is a natural healing agent derived from a sunflower. It reduces bruising and swelling. Other ingredients in ChopSaver include shea butter, mango butter, avocado oil, aloe, citrus oils, and grapeseed oil. Users find that ChopSaver keeps their lips from swelling, inflaming, and chapping.
Gosling’s Original ChopSaver Lip Care is marketed by Good for the Goose Products, LLC and is available for purchase directly from the product website or from many CVS stores and some other retailers around the country. You can head to the website here and check out their Store Locator to find a retailer near you. There is one CVS store location local to me that carries ChopSaver. I was also surprised to find that the company through which we purchased our children’s musical instruments (and that services them during regular visits to their schools) also carries this item for purchase by students! I had no idea!! My son needs me to purchase him some oil for his trumpet, so when I order that I will order him several tubes of ChopSaver at the same time.
When I saw this product, I just had to get it for my son to try. He plays trumpet in the school band during band class, and also participates in pep band and marching band during the school year. That means he spends a lot of time playing his trumpet between class, playing during summer band camp, fall marching band competitions, winter pep band at basketball games, as well as regular performance competitions. He is often asking me to buy him some kind of product for his lips. The hard part about that is that most brands of lip care on the market contain a smell or a taste that he doesn’t like. In the 5 years he has been playing the trumpet (through middle school and high school), I’ve found only one brand of chap stick that he likes.
My son was sceptical, as usual, to try a new product on his lips. But, try it he did. And he likes it! I like that it has an SPF of 15 in the product because during summer marching band camp, he is outdoors every day from 9 am until 6 pm (with a few breaks for rest and meals, of course). He gets the best tan of anyone in the house due to this fact, but I’m constantly worried that he won’t reapply the sunscreen I send with him. At least I know he uses chap stick often, so I won’t have to worry about his lips getting so chapped anymore and being protected from sun damage now, too, with ChopSaver.
