Childhood Memories Come Back

When we were growing up, my grandfather and grandmother’s house was full of clocks. Every kind of clocks you could think of, and they all would strike on the hour different sounds. My Pa was known as Mr. Tick Tock, he was well known in the little town they lived in, he would fix and build clocks all the time.

As a matter of fact, he was in the papers quite a few times.  As one I can remember is the town of Wyckoff NJ, the tower clock had to be fixed, and Pa did and was in the papers, we were always so proud of him.

There are so many great memories of being in the basement and him, having patients and teaching us how to build a clock from the ground up. He kept those clocks for many years until his memory started to go and they moved into a retirement home and then Pa into a home that could better take care of him.

When I was contacted by Bavarian Clockworks, to do a feature article for them, I didn’t hesitate this brings back many great memories, and of course, I know how to make a clock.
