I have changed the way that me and my family eat and what we consume. I am always looking for the best and healthiest foods for my family and I try to incorporate them into what we eat. It has been hard to corporate certain thinks like eggs,milk. I have changed my milk to soy milk and I was left with finding a substitute for the eggs. Well that is till I found Chia Seeds.
Chia Seeds are these tiny seeds that you can add to your food so you get fuller faster and you can also use them to substitute eggs. Yes I said eggs. I thought these have to taste weird and are going to be uneatable. I was wrong and I will admit that . I was completely wrong,and I am so glad that I found this little treasure of gold. The funny thing is that the Chia seed actually comes from the chia plant that everyone loves to grow on their kitchen shelf.
Chia seeds to me have no taste and are crunchy just like bacon bits but with out all the fats and being unhealthy. I couldn’t believe the health benefits of these tiny seeds as well. They are full of mega o3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium. The next best thing about Chia Seeds is that you can add them to water and they turn to a gel . You can substitute these at this stage for eggs. I have added them to banana bread, and puddings and a lot of other food items. I love to cook from scratch and too fond these awesome and be able to add more nutrition to my families meals makes me happy.
