My Autistic son is a chewer. He chews anything and everything. He ruins clothes, toys, and more. He’s always been a chewer, even before he had teeth. We have teeth marks on many things in our home. The saying, “This is why we can’t have nice things,” refers to kids who chew everything in their path. Okay, maybe not really, but it certainly applies to our situation. When Kelly asked me if I wanted to check out Chew Beads for him, I was stoked! He was happy too, as he loves getting “prizes” in the mail.
Chew Beads make necklaces that look great on mom, but are functional for baby. They can chew, tug and touch them safely. Their products are 100% silicone. No BPA, PHTHALATES, LEAD, CADMIUM, OR METAL. They’re dishwasher safe and soft on your baby or children’s gums and teeth. (All products can be washed with soap and water.) They have a line of jewelry for mom to wear, or for older kids like my son. For baby, they have a ton of products! From teethers, to pacifier clips, to chewers for strollers and more. Seriously, they have so many nice things. Wish they were around when Liam was a baby!
They sent Liam their Christopher teething necklace. He liked that it was a “spectrum (of colors) like Autism!” The necklace measures 30 inches long, and has a break away clasp for safety purposes. Definitely a nice touch because let’s face it, safety is huge! The beads are pliable, yet hold up to my son’s heavy chewing. Liam reports that “they feel good under my teeth, and it doesn’t taste bad.” So basically, he likes it. My son is super picky when it comes to choosing a chewy (yet he chews on everything in our house,) so the fact that he likes it, is huge.
Whether you have a teething baby, or know someone who does, or if you have a child with a need to chew, then you definitely need to check out Chew Beads! You can get to their website HERE. You can also find them on Social Media. They’re on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
