Watching videos on a MacBook is often convenient. Because of how portable it is, you can take it with you practically anywhere and always be able to watch your favorite videos no matter where you are. That being said if your favorite videos are on YouTube, Netflix or other online platforms you won’t be able to stream them – unless you have an active internet connection.
Rather than being unable to watch your favorite videos while you’re on the go however, you could capture and save them right onto your MacBook. All you’ll need to do that is Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac, and you can quickly learn how to record video on MacBook directly from your screen.
The first thing you’ll have to do is define the capture area. There are several ways to do this in Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac, and you can click and drag the mouse cursor to draw a frame over the video you want to capture, or select the application window to record it. Alternatively, you could use one of the preset sizes that are listed later on, but that may not fit as well.
Once you’ve defined the capture area, the only other set-up that is strictly necessary is checking to see that Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac will record the system audio. Just glance over and see whether the icon (i.e. the ‘speaker’) is highlighted, and if it isn’t you can click on it once to remedy that.
If you like you could set up Movavi Screen Capture Studio for Mac and adjust the frame rate, audio levels, or even configure it to record keyboard and mouse actions. None of that is really necessary however, but the one feature you may want to take advantage of before you start recording is its scheduler that can automatically start and stop the recording at a particular time.
Of course if you prefer to control the recording manually you can easily do so via the on-screen controls or hotkeys. Once the recording is done, you can either save it or open it in the built-in editor if you’d like to trim unwanted footage, merge clips together, apply special effects, add audio tracks, insert captions, and so on.
As you can see it doesn’t take much effort to start capturing and saving your favorite videos on your MacBook. Once they’re safely saved onto your hard drive, you won’t be reliant on having an internet connection to watch them, and that will truly turn your MacBook into a great portable entertainment system to have with you wherever you are.
