A Book For Cat Lovers

I am a huge animal lover. I feel connected to them when I look into their eyes, it’s like they are speaking to me. Making the Most of All Nine Lives: The Extraordinary Life of Buffy the Cat by Sandy Robins and Paul Smulson is right up my animal-loving alley! It’s chock full of beautiful, full-color photos of cats in all kinds of hilarious situations, complete with text commentary.

Cats are one of my favorites. I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a cat, except for about 2 months after I got married. We lived in an apartment and my husband worked long hours. We had only one car at first so when he was at work I had no way to get around unless someone came to pick me up. I was SO lonely. One of my best friends saw it and came over one day to take me for a ride, so she said. She took me to the home of a family who was relocating to another town and couldn’t take all of their animals and told me to see if maybe I wanted to give a home to one of their cats. There was a little Siamese mix that took one look at the new people on the property and ran to hide. Something in her eyes before she bolted grabbed me, though, and I had to have her. She was my baby before we had an actual baby and lived to the ripe old age of 18 before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. I miss her every single day. If I had access to a time machine, I’d go back to the day I brought her home and live it all over again … no question. We’ve had many animals over the years, and I love each and every one of them in a unique way.

I love seeing funny animal pictures and videos. It just gladdens my heart a little bit. So, I had quite a good time reading this book. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves cats. It would make a great gift for an animal lover, too.

Synopsis:

If cats really did have nine lives, none would live all of them as fully as Buffy, an orange tabby from the suburbs of Chicago. In the course of his lifetime, Buffy was a bartender, a judge, a DJ, a teacher, and a dental hygienist. Like many who live and work in a city, he spent his days eating breakfast, commuting on public transit, going grocery shopping, and enjoying a cold beverage at the end of a long day. There were the chores—mowing the lawn, chopping firewood—but then on weekends, he laid out at the beach, took the kayak out on the water, went fishing, and relaxed by listening to music. Follow Buffy along on 100 of his adventures, depicted in full-color photography, and learn what it means to make the most of all nine lives!
