It’s almost that time again. Back to school. Parents are happy, kids not so much. Regardless, a good sleep routine is essential. Many parents start getting their children up early, and to bed early, a few weeks before heading back to school. This is a great idea. Claessens’ Kid’Sleep My First Alarm Clock, would be a great asset in gearing up for the school transition.
Let me tell you a bit about it. First of all, it’s an alarm clock, and a sleep trainer. The sleep trainer is great. It’s the smaller area to the right of the clock. The top picture shows day time, and the bottom night-time. When you set up the alarm clock, the night-time image will be lit up when your child should be in bed. Likewise, the top image will be lit up when it’s okay to get up. (This also serves as a mini nightlight, by emitting a soft glow.) I personally think this feature is perfect for visual learners. As a special needs mom, it’s my favorite part of this alarm clock.
The biggest part of the clock is analog. To set the alarm there is a longer inverted pointer. This makes it easy for your child to see how long he/she has before they can get up. Below that, there is small digital panel. This is ideal for teaching time to your youngster. They will see where the hands are on the analog clock, and be able to associate it with the easy to read digital time below. What an amazing way to help teach time.
Claessens’ Kid’Sleep My First Alarm Clock has three alarm sounds, and a silent mode. It has birds chirping (Liam’s favorite,) a train, and a cuckoo clock sound. The alarm sound gradually increases in volume until your child is awake and stops it. This is excellent for deeper sleepers.
Lastly, Liam’s most favorite feature is the mushroom-shaped snooze button on top of the alarm clock. When depressed, it also illuminates the face of the analog clock. He loves it. He pushes it at least 37 times a day! He’s also been carrying the clock all around the house. (Which means he really likes it.) He told me to, “tell the readers that this thing is AWESOME!”
