Now that summer is coming closer, I love the availability of fruits and vegetables. In the Midwest, prices go down in the summer months on produce. My whole family eats healthier when we have tons of choices of fruits and vegetables to snack on at a reasonable price. I am on a journey to lose weight. I am continually focusing on exercising, eating healthy and making the right choices every day. Some days I cheat and enjoy a meal that was totally worth it. Other days, I am on track and eat healthy and exercise. Then there are days that I find myself eating just for the sake of eating. I’m not really hungry but there I am with a snack. These are the days I need the most help.
The Vitamin Shoppe AppeFit is just what I was looking for. I received two single serve packets to try out. Appefit is a drink that has 20 calories and it makes you feel full so you don’t snack. It is made from spinach extract that makes you feel full for hours after you drink it. I liked that it didn’t have a lot of calories and it also doesn’t contain caffeine.
I liked the taste it was fruity and not too strong. I drank it after breakfast to suppress my hunger till lunch. On the two days I tried it, I feel like it really did seem to help. It is hard to know for sure since I realize sometimes when you start something new there is a placebo effect. I liked the taste enough that I would look into buying a whole container and use it for a week. What is nice about the placebo effect is that even if it didn’t really work – I achieved my goal of not eating anyway! Sometimes we need just a little nudge to get to our goal and whatever tool you use could be the ‘extra push’ you needed to get it done.
Do you need an extra push to get you to your goal?
