Affordable Robots Helpers That Can Save You Time and Energy

While many of you might still think of robots as being more of a sci-fi creation than something that parks itself in your home and moves about whenever you need them, the latter is becoming more commonplace. New technology is bringing robotics into the households of people all over the world and these new robots are doing everything from mowing the lawn and acting as in home security, to vacuuming floors, cleaning grilles and playing with your children. Are these the kind of robots we envisioned when we were growing up? Let’s take a look.

While the idea of a robot lawnmower may sound farfetched, in actuality, robot lawnmowers have been around for quite some time and some of the industry’s top manufacturers are building them. From brands such as Husqvarna and WORX, to LawnBott and Robomow, manufacturers are answering the call for an easy and effective way for their customers to mow their lawns. Many of these robot lawnmowers are fully automatic and they will park themselves and recharge their batteries after mowing your lawn.

As for the inside of your home, there is no better way to keep it clean than with one of the latest, state of the art robot vacuums. These useful devices constantly monitor your flooring surfaces and can travel throughout your home on a single charge. Whether you have hardwood floors, laminates, tile or carpet, robot vacuums can keep your floors clean saving you time and energy having to do it yourself. Other robotic devices available for home use include robot security systems which use a robotic device which travels throughout your home monitoring the area for burglars as well as smoke, fire, carbon monoxide and flooding. Some robot security devices even interact with your family helping children with homework and entertainment and providing up to date news, weather and social media streams.

From mowing lawns and vacuuming floors, to keeping your home safe, these advanced robots are more affordable than ever with prices continuing to drop as the technology develops. What used to cost homeowners thousands of dollars, can now be had for just a couple of hundred. When purchasing these robots for home use, you want to make sure you are getting the best robots available. There are cheaper, low quality versions available, but you want one that you can depend on and that offers value.

Another type of robot that we are beginning to see are much smaller and require owner interaction for them to work. These include many of the radio controlled types and robots such as the bbq robot, that must be placed by hand. These are very useful and are designed to save time and effort on the homeowner.

Can these robots also save you money?  This is a question that many new or prospective robot owners are asking. This can easily be answered by looking at just how much time a robot is saving you. Just look at ColumbiaFlorist’s robot mower comparison table to see the lawn size you can mow on a single charge with every robot lawn mower available. It’s quite useful. They say that time is money and if a robot can save you hours of work per week cleaning your home or mowing your lawn, then you can say that they are saving you money as you will have more time to focus on other things that you need to get done.

Today’s version of the helper robot many be far different from what we see in the sci-fi movies but they are real and they are here to make our lives easier. What type of home robot would you like to see? Do you use one now and how do you like it? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Cool post about robots that can be used for home. My favorite home robot is the robotic vacuum. It helps clean the house a lot while I'm away.
