I highly recommend this book because I know it will hit home for a lot of moms out there. I grew up as the FAT GIRL with a skinny mom who only ate Doritos and drank Pepsi. My mom would tear me down pretty much every day, not even sure if she knew what she was doing. She would comment on how skinny she was and how can I be her kid, I must get the fatness from my dad’s side. She never understood or wanted to talk about my weight so I kept that all in and kept on eating. Now that I have a daughter and she is 11 yrs old, I need to be there for her no matter what. I sometimes find myself falling into my mothers foot steps and commenting on what my daughter is eating but I stop and remember how I felt. After reading Fat Girl: how to let go of your weight and get on with your life I was able to let go of some things in my past and help my daughter through this stage of her life that she really needs her mom. Please read the tips above but they go in much more detail in the book and I highly recommend it!
