Most of the Thai Islands are best known for their glamorous party atmosphere and bewitching white sandy beaches. However, some of the top rated Islands in Thailand offer more than that; they provide plentiful of opportunities for leisure, recreation, exploration, and spiritual purposes.

Below is a rough guide to some of the top rated islands that you should consider on your next visit to Thailand.

Attracting more than 1.5M visitors per year, KohSamui is the second largest island. The island is known to offer luxurious first-rate products; from exotic beaches such as Taling, secluded resorts, and spas to jungle waterfalls.

But what probably separates the island from the rest is the availability of coconuts. Thai locals use the coconut basically in everything; from cooking, drinking, and other cultural rituals.

2)    Koh Tao

Koh Tao is unique due to its ability to hold on its natural beauty despite the ever bulging list of visitors it accommodates every year. Compared to other islands in Thailand and worldwide at large, Koh Tao provides the best diving experience, hence a numerous number of diving schools on the island such as the iconic Big Blue.

Apart from diving and snorkeling, Koh Tao is famed for its vast stretches of white sandy beaches, colorful underwater and plenty of coastal hideaways.

3)    Phuket

This is Thailand’s most developed island. Its proximity to Bangkok and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport makes the island a convenience to many. Additionally, it`s close to some five-star resort such as Villasanyanga resort (villasanyanga.com) and other major resorts.

The island also has some scenic beaches ideal for swimming, diving, and surfing. The beaches have attracted numerous resort accommodations, shopping centers, golf course, prosperous nightclubs and historical museums.
