5 Tips for Picking the “Right” Wedding Dress

Wedding planning can be stressful but as soon as you get that perfect dress then everything else falls in place.  I know wishful thinking but as soon as I found my wedding dress everything else felt like a breeze. I didn’t have much of a budget for our wedding so I knew I needed to look at cheap wedding dresses. I went to wedding dress boutiques but their dresses were so expensive and so I decided to look for cheap wedding dresses online.  I couldn’t believe how easy it was to order wedding dresses online.

Wedding dress shopping is a complex process that involves researching your favorite styles, narrowing your search among the different types of wedding dresses, setting a budget, choosing a bridal entourage, and scheduling a date to try on gowns. An important question to ask before trying on gowns is what kind of wedding dress should you have? There are an array of different necklines, silhouettes, necklines, fabrics, and features available when choosing your wedding gown, and preliminary research on the lingo will help you determine what you like, dislike, and navigate through the website easily. Pinterest or Instagram is a good place to start browsing for inspiration, and you can also send your inspiration pictures to one of our Avery Austin stylists to give recommendations directly.

There were a lot of different places to look for beautiful wedding dresses and so many options.  My mom wanted me to get an A-line Wedding dress.  The A-Line wedding dress features a skirt that gradually begins to flare out from a fitted bodice, starting below the natural waist, and lightly skimming the hips, as it and extends to the hem, forming an “A” shape.  I really loved  the A-Line dresses because they fit my body type perfect. Lace is something I wanted on my dress so picking an A-Line Lace Wedding Dress was what I ended up with and I was so happy.  I wanted to be beautiful on my special day so picking the “right” dress was important. Our long sleeve bridal gowns are a great way to get look you want while staying within budget.

Tips for picking that RIGHT DRESS:

  • Pick one that flatters you not what is in style at the moment.
  • Make sure the top fits the best- most of the pictures are from the waist up.
  • Go with your “gut” feeling- usually it is the dress you picked out first.
  • Don’t worry about the size (gowns run bigger) so don’t fret on the number just make sure it fits.
  • Make sure you can walk and dance in your dress- you want to be comfortable.

I was so impressed with all the different options that were out there in cyber world.  I did my research on my own time (not when the stores were open).  I printed out my top 5 dresses and shared with my best friend then I ordered my dress online.  I knew I would need some alterations done but I wasn’t worry about that at all.  Buying wedding dresses online was stress free and I saved money so I was able to put the extra money towards something else.
